notes Inflorescence of S. glandulosus ssp. secundus, showing flowers and fruits. The epithet of this species refers to the secund (= one-sided) racemes. However, one of the flowers here is misbehaving :-). That one may be ignored by a busy pollinator who prefers to move uniformly upwards through conveniently aligned flowers. Note that the points of attachment of the pedicels are actually arranged in a spiral pattern around the inflorescence branch...but the pedicels themselves generally bend to position the flowers in alignment on one side.
