    Reviewer's comments:
"This is one of the most mysterious (and cutest) little polemons I've seen. It is not a Linanthus of any kind although it appears to belong in the Polemonaceae family. I contacted Jon Rebman at San Diego Nat. Hist. Museum but he hasnt yet ID'd it either. Can you give any other details about the plant or its habitat, how numerous etc.? At least it should be moved to its proper genus."

Action: changed name from "Leptosiphon parviflorus" to "Linanthus lemmonii "

    Reviewer's comments:
"OK I'm ready to concede that this is L. lemmonii after learning that it sometimes has the contrasty red center. But it has to be a mutation of some kind in order to have alternate rather than opposite leaves. An interesting anomaly in any case. 11soxbox"
