  • notes   Frame 3 of 6. Sequence of six photos shows a Crab Spider getting into an ambush position on a Phantom Orchid (Cephalanthera austiniae) flower. The well-camouflaged spider crawled up the stem, climbed into the flower and prepared to ambush flies that landed on the orchid. The elapsed time in this sequence was 1 minute and 40 seconds.
