Owens Valley. Near Bishop (Inyo County, California, US)notes View of these moraines along Eastern Sierra mountain front is looking to the southwest. These lateral moraines extending from the mouth of Pine Creek Canyon were formed during the Tahoe Stage of glaciation in the Sierra, ending about 65,000 years ago. Smaller, younger moraines from more recent glacial stages are found within the canyon defined by these Tahoe-stage moraines. The mountain to the left is the north flank of Mount Tom.
