Some of the characters that identify this as Clarkia dudleyana are: Axis of inflorescence in bud recurved at tip; buds pendant; sepals remaining fused in 4's; corolla bowl-shaped; petals large, obovate, pale pink with no large spots but with purple speckles; petal claw not broad and without side lobes; stamens 8, inner four paler, outer four +/- lavender; stigma exserted beyond anthers; ovary/immature fruit 8-grooved.
