INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Apr 1, 2011
  • location   Granite Loop Trail, Santa Rosa Plateau (Riverside County, California, US)
  • family Polemoniaceae
  • notes   Growing in small openings within chaparral. Not flowering in the great abundance I had imagined they might be...only a few were blooming here and there. This may have been due to non-optimal timing (season and/or year)...or perhaps my presumption that they flower 'en masse' like many other Linanthus/Leptosiphon species may be in error. At any rate, glad to at last meet this delightful member of one of my favorite genera :-) My thanks to Tom Chester for suggesting the location.
