  • notes   Gibellula sp. of fungus parasitizing a spider. Fungi of this genus are pathogens of spiders. Windblown spores germinate on the exoskeleton, penetrate the spider, then grow internally, digesting their host. Finally, these spore-bearing synnemata erupt from the cadaver.
