Left bank of river Soèa near Srpenica village, East Julian Alps (Posoèje, Slovenia)notes Slo.: hrapava trnovka - Habitat: mixed wood and bushes, flat terrain, old alluvial river deposits, calcareous ground, total shade, humid place, well protected from direct rain, average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 8-10 deg C, elevations 370 m (1,200 feet), alpine phytogeographical region. - Substratum: rich loose humus next to remnants of a totally rotten hardwood stump. - Comments: Photographs were not taken at the original place but in grass a few meters away of it. Growing in a group, several sporocarps, pileus diameter ~ 12 cm (5 inch); taste first pleasant mushroomy then unpleasant; smell pleasant, fresh. Spores smooth, dimensions: 7,8 (SD = 0,6) x 3,0 (SD = 0,3) micr., Q = 2,62 (SD = 0,20), n = 30. Motic B2-211A, magnification 1.000 x, oil, in water. - Ref.: (1) Personal communication.
