  • notes   This Serpentinite, part of the Feather River Terrane, was formed in Triassic time, about 220 million years ago. When subjected to great pressure, Serpentinite probably flowed in a plastic manner. Outcrops like this often exhibit slick surfaces characteristic of material flow.
