notes A detail of the inflorescence of Leptosiphon (Linanthus) ambiguus. Notice the calyx with the hyaline membrane much narrower than the opaque red & green tissue of the midribs...and also the color sequence of the corolla tube/throat/limbs (maroon/yellow/pink) and the exserted styles. Note the long, slender tube/throat of the flower. Former Linanthus with salverform flowers such as this species are currently placed in the genus Leptosiphon, but I'm posting these photos under Linanthus ambiguus so the 'More Details' page on CalPhotos will automatically link to the description for this taxon in the online Jepson Manual. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
