  • notes   View of Cathedral Peak, elev. 10,940 ft., from the west. This part of Yosemite was subjected to extensive glaciation, but the peak remained above the ice. As a result, it does not exhibit the rounded features characteristic of glaciated peaks. The shape of this granite peak reflects strong vertical jointing.
