La Jolla Shores beach, San Diego (San Diego County, California, US)species associated with this habitat: Halichoeres semicinctus Oxyjulis californica Zostera marina notes This individual was seen cruising in the shallow waters near La Jolla Shores beach. Formerly classified as its own species, called a Black Sea Turtle, the eastern Pacific population of green turtles often has a black carapace. There is a tiny permanent population based in San Diego.
