plant's place of origin
On a high berm on coastal mesa about 1 mile E of Gaviota Creek. (Santa Barbara County, California, US)family
Chenopodiaceae
notes Female bract faintly 3-veined as per Abrams, with one tubercle just prox to central tooth. I suspect that all the serenana I've seen around Lompoc also are var. davidsonii. They're small-leaved with interrupted staminate inflorescences. Keep posting your plant photos, people! Onward with demystification.... Someday plant identification will be easy.photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
