INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Aug 4, 2009
  • this photo depicts a plant that was cultivated or collected in the wild
  • photo location   scanner
  • plant's place of origin   On a high berm on coastal mesa about 1 mile E of Gaviota Creek. (Santa Barbara County, California, US)
  • family Chenopodiaceae
  • notes   Female bract faintly 3-veined as per Abrams, with one tubercle just prox to central tooth. I suspect that all the serenana I've seen around Lompoc also are var. davidsonii. They're small-leaved with interrupted staminate inflorescences. Keep posting your plant photos, people! Onward with demystification.... Someday plant identification will be easy.
