order
Anura
class Amphibia
habitat Highly aquatic, formerly very abundant, hiding under rocks close to the shore. This lake is located on a volcanic mesa.notes This is an adult female, 40 mm svl. The population in Laguna Blanca is now extinct, almost certainly because of the introduction of a large predatory fish (Perichythys colahuapiensis) in 1965. This animal is one of the last ones collected from the lake, as they have not been found since then despite intensive searching. The same species continues to live in nearby lakes where there are no fish.contributor's ID # 11763 From the collection of the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology Herp 188141 View all photos for this specimen
