INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Jun 10, 2009
  • location   Point Reyes National Seashore. Bull Point Trailhead, off of Sir Francis Drake Road just past an oyster farm. In cow pastures along both sides of trail about 150 meters past trail entrance.
  • family Polemoniaceae
  • notes   I sequenced two regions of this population's DNA, and it aligns every time with parviflorus and NOT rosaceus. It superficially looks like rosaceus, but it has dense glandular trichomes on the sepals, like most parviflorus. Rosaceus is always more or less glabrous on the sepals, except for some sparse trichomes (NOT glandular).
  • camera   Nikon D60 with 18-55mm lens
  • photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
