Usually this plant is seen as a leafless, gray-green, densely twiggy tangle of spiny branches, growing in dry desert washes. But when in flower it's a dazzlingly colorful mass of deep blue-purple delight.camera Shot with a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f16, 1/160, ISO 100 using a Quantaray 24mm macro lens.
