location
Near Little Lake (Inyo County, California, US)family
Asteraceae
notes Habit of a single of Glyptopleura marginata plant, with its distinctive 'crustose-denticulate' margins on the leaves and small involucral bracts ('calyculi'). [NOTE: Due to the ligule length, the plants in this population key to Glyptopleura setulosa in the Flora of North America treatment, though the Jepson Manual (1993) only recognized the single taxon G. marginata.] The plants here were growing in coarsely sandy soil, apparently derived from a mixture of Sierran alluvium and local volcanic material. camera Shot on a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f16, 1/125, ISO 100 with a Canon 50mm compact macro lens.

| Reviewer's comments: | | | "The second edition of the Jepson Manual now recognizes both Glyptopleura setulosa and G. marginata as distinct species, in accord with the FNA treatment. So, per the remarks in the post, this is being moved to G. setulosa." |
