notes Twigs, leaves, and flowers of Ziziphus parryi. ZIziphus is a brethren genus to Ceanothus. If you look closely at the flowers, you'll see the skinny, clawed, petals are opposite the stamens, and their tips 'cup' the anthers, protecting them before they spring up at maturity. (Note the five wider petaloid-looking triangular parts of the corolla are the sepals!)camera Shot on a Canon D60 at f10, 1/200, ISO 100, using a Canon 50mm Compact macro lens.
