notes Buds, flowering head, and dried involucre of A. cooperi...all exhibiting the key character of gland-streaked phyllaries. Also (barely) visible at bottom right are the glands typically found at the base of the apical tooth of the leaves. (''Adeno = gland'' and ''phyllum = leaf'' :-) There's also a hemipteran bug on the right of the flower head.camera Shot on a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f16, 1/125, ISO 100 using a Canon 50mm compact macro lens.
