notes The Jepson Manual treats Hymenoxys cooperi var. canescens as a variant of Hymenoxys lemmonii, but the issue of nomenclature here appears to remain unresolved (see http://ucjeps.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/get_cpn.pl?Hymenoxys+cooperi+var.+canescens&expand=1 ). Using the Flora of North America treatment I'm leaning towards H. cooperi var. canescens here, though records for occurences of plants using both names are recorded on CalFlora in the vicinity of this plant. Any knowledgeable comments are welcome. (It's a beautiful plant, whatever it is :-)camera Shot on a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f13, 1/125, ISO 100 using a Canon 100mm macro lens.
