    1. Reviewed by Timothy D. Ives    Aug 23, 2002

Action: changed name from "Picea engelmannii" to "Abies lasiocarpa var. lasiocarpa "

    Reviewer's comments:
"From location of photo, and colour of needles, shape of tree and needles, and purple upright cones at the top of the tree, this is clearly not Picea engelmannii, but is Abies lasiocarpa.

    2. Reviewed by Michael Frankis    Jun 22, 2007

Action: changed name from "Abies lasiocarpa var. lasiocarpa" to "Picea engelmannii "

    Reviewer's comments:
"Agree with photographer's ident; Picea cones are erect at first, only becoming pendulous toward maturity; also some of the cones are terminal on the shoots, a frequent character in Picea but not found in Abies; branch structure is also Picea."
