INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Mar 16, 2008
  • this photo depicts a plant that was cultivated or collected in the wild
  • photo location   home scanner
  • plant's place of origin   Lower south slope of Purisima Hills, north of Lompoc (Santa Barbara County, California, US)
  • family Boraginaceae
  • notes   Each corolla lobe has a central blue dot basally. I'm not entirely sure of my identification. Flowers are tiny, peduncles are a bit shorter than adjacent leaf. However, local plants were once called 'var. parvifolia,' according to Clifton Smith, and these leaves are very well divided.
