notes A beautiful species, with its glaucous herbage, lovely flowers, overall color...and those wonderful gland-tipped leaf lobes and phyllaries! Note that the stigmas in the center flower head have completely pushed through their stamen tubes and are flopping out fully-extended, while those in the top flower head are still within their stamen tubes (except for in the earlier maturing ray florets).camera Shot on a Canon D60 at f16, 1/100, ISO 100 with a Canon 50mm Compact macro lens.
