this photo depicts a plant that was cultivated or collected in the wild
photo location Belfair, WA
plant's place of origin
Origin: John's Prairie, Shelton, WA (Mason County, Washington, US)family
Primulaceae
notes Open Pinus contorta/Gary oak prairie/forest with numerous grasses Erythronium oregonum and Camassia quamash v. maxima. This is an unusual white form of our widespread native primrose; although I have encountered it in oak habitat with camass/Erythronium hendersonii near Grant's Pass Oregon. This two-stemmed single plant was produced in my garden from seed of existing lavender plants. So the white-flowered gene is in the Henderson DNA and occasionally reveals itself. It would be interesting to know the ratio where white ones show up.camera Kodak ES Z760
