INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Sep 3, 2006
  • this photo depicts a plant that was cultivated or collected in the wild
  • photo location   Lompoc
  • plant's place of origin   Purisima Hills, upper south slope west of antenna farm
  • family Ericaceae
  • notes   This is the only individual I saw with bristles (non-glandular.) I had an eye out for bristles, because I was looking for A. tomentosa ssp. crustacea. The leaves on A. glandulosa are smooth in the Purisima Hills, like ssp. mollis. But the leaf shape (larger lvs toothed to lobed) is like ssp. zacaensis.
