  • notes   These sessile snails live in attached tubes that have the same structural layers as other snail shells. They feed by extruding a veil-like net of mucus that entraps plankton and then is ingested. Between the two snails is the extended branchial plume of the polychaete worm Serpula vermicularis.

    Action: changed name from "Serpulorbis squamigerus" to "Thylacodes squamigerus "

         "Two name changes; the serpulid is Serpula columbiana, not S. vermicularis"
