notes Inflorescence of Asclepias californica. Is this individual A. californica ssp. californica or ssp. greenei? Note that the bottom of the gynostegia hoods are slightly elevated above the bases of the reflexed corollas, but to a degree that is intermediate between the two line drawings illustrating the subspecies on pg 191 of the Jepson Manual. It looks closer to spp. greenei to me.camera Shot at f8, 1/200 on a Canon D60 with a Canon 50mm compact macro lens.
