  • notes   Rohtas Fort, near Jhelum River, Punjab, Pakistan is the most impressive of the medieval forts in Pakistan. Built between 1540 and 1545 by the Delhi ruler Sher Shah Suri as a military base. It is expanded over 4 km, had 12 gates. Now it is diapleted, but is an important cite for the local fauna and flora (Khan and Tasnim, Herpetologica,1990. 46:142-148.
