    1. Reviewed by Theresa S. Talley    Jun 1, 2006

Action: changed name from "Desmocerus californicus dimorphus" to "Desmocerus auripennis "

    Reviewer's comments:
"This is not a Valley elderberry longhorn beetle (D. californicus californicus), which occurs only in the Central Valley of California. This appears to be one of the subspecies of Desmocerus auripennis, possibly D.a. lacustris. This fits better with the coloration of this beetle and the location."
