  • notes   The Raglin Ridge area in western Tehama Co. has approximately 1500 acres of MacNab Cypress. It is a very rugged and beautiful area at the eastern base of the Yolla Bolly-Middle Eel Wilderness. At the upper limits of the MacNab Cypress there are Douglas-Fir, Ponderosa Pine, and Knobcone Pine. The area has a diverse flora, also consisting of Quercus durata, Chamise, Ceanothus species, and several other oaks and chaparral shrubs.The entire area is on serpentine and shale, and is also very interesting geologically.You need good directions and a good map to get to Raglin Ridge. It is about 45 minutes out of Red Bluff (west), if you know exactly where you are going.
