notes The Fountain Fire destroyed thousands of acres of forest and many homes several years ago. When I finally got the exact locations of the three groves of MacNab Cypress in this area I was very concerned that the fire may have burned all the old growth 'MacNabs', as all three locations were extremely burned over. I was pleased to find many of the larger trees at the Montgomery Creek Grove were still thriving even though the ravine where they grow was very badly burned. At the head of the ravine, the ground is covered with new growth Cypresses approx. 2 to 3 feet in height, and there are many 15 to 25 ft. tall trees with 8 to 12 inch trunks.camera Fuji digital camera with 3x optical and 2.5x digital zoom,2.1 Mega-pixel
