notes The only specimen of this species seen blooming; California Native Plant Society field trip leader Dr. James R. Griffin told us that this one had received an unusual fire treatment which induced it to flower: Someone had illegally driven a vehicle (I think he said it was a VW) into the reserve and had crashed near this spot, causing a fire.camera Yashica Electro 35
