location
Hwy 173 just north of the Mojave River Forks campground; 34.2006(d.ms)N, 117.1602W, 3086 ft. (San Bernardino County, California, US)family
Polygonaceae
plant community Juniper woodlandnotes This species has not previously been reported in San Bernardino Co. It is considered to be largely a coastal spcies. The single specimen ascribed to San Bernardino Co. at the Jepson Herbarium (CalFlora database) has, I believe, been misfiled -- Paso Robles is not even close to San Bernardino Co. Both Jepson and Munz consider E. roseum to be limited to CaFP (Jepson) but it is clearly present in this region of the western Mojave currently, at least in this specialized habitat along the southern edge of the West Fork of the Mojave River downstream from Lake Silverwood.camera Nikon 950 digital
