  • notes   The Umayyad were possibly the earliest Muslim Caliphate, and their structures for water flow management at Azraq, dating from midway through the first millennium CE show remarkable sophistication and durability. This livestock 'tank' (watering hole)has survived with minimal restoration since perhaps 200 CE.
