plant community Mossy forest floor of wet coniferous foothills near streamnotes One of 2 species in Scoliopus genus and this species is endemic to western Oregon. Plants observed around 1-10m from stream. McDowell creek canyon is from NE to SW and plants observed were predominantly on the southerly side of stream with flat or NW aspect. Note recurved calyx. Elevation of observed plants was between 259-274m. Most common associated species: Douglas Fir, Big Leaf Maple, Sword Fern, Wood Sorrel, variety of moss sp.camera Nikon D80, Nikkor 60mm 1:2.8
