notes The two tall stems at center are the rare, annual, vernal pool species Agrostis lacuna-vernalis...currently known only from Fort Ord. The shorter stem of grass just left of center is Deschampsia danthonioides. (View at full-size to see max detail.) These were pointed out to me by botanist David Styer on a visit to Fort Ord.
