plant community Chihuahuan Desert Larrea-Flourensia scrub on Tobosa grassland remnant at 3833' 1170m)notes Several hundred annual plants, many exceeding 6' in height (as here scaled by Dr. R. S. Spellenberg of NMSU), found in silty soil of a shallow natural ponding area at roadside. This site became the 3rd known documented U.S. occurance for this Mexican species. Found at lower end of wide braided sheet drainage terminating Jernigan Wash onto the Crow Flats plain, an area relatively verdant after recent heavy summer rains.keywords: CDR, Chihuahuan Desert
