Sequoia National Forest, Big Meadows (Fresno County, California, US)notes Ivesia campestris (M.E. Jones) Rydb. NATIVE Habit: Plant rosetted, green to white-hairy; caudex simple. Stem: ascending, +- 10--30 cm. Leaf: 5--15 cm; sheathing bases glabrous; leaflets generally 15--20 per side, lobes 3--5, 2--10 mm, oblanceolate; cauline leaves 3--4. Inflorescence: clusters 1--few, loosely head-like, 10--20 mm wide, generally < 15-flowered; pedicels < 4 mm, straight. Flower: 7--10 mm wide; hypanthium length +- 1/2 width; petals 4(5) (4 unique in Ivesia), 3--4 mm, > sepals, narrow-obovate, pale yellow; stamens generally 12--16; pistils 4--20. Fruit: 1--1.5 mm, smooth, light brown. Ecology: Meadow edges; Elevation: 2200--3100 m. Bioregional Distribution: s SNH.
