plant community P. fissifolium grows in succulent karoo or transitional vegetation between succulent karoo and fynbos, and also in renosterveld,notes A geophyte 70-140 mm tall when in flower. Tuber: a turnip shaped or elongated, often moniliform root 15-45 mm long and 8-25 mm in diameter. Leaves variable with age, mainly pinnate to irregularly bipinnatifid, lamina deeply incised, segments laciniate; hypanthium long. Petals 5, spatulate with a length/width ratio < 5, cream or pale yellow, upper 2 with wine-red feather-like markings, lower 3 narrowly spatulate; five very short fertile stamens concealed in the floral sheath; pollen orange.camera Sony DSLR-A500
