INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Jun 18, 2017
  • location   Tse Bit'a'i (Shiprock) (San Juan County, New Mexico, US)
  • notes   An ancient lava-filled dike SW of Tse Bit'a'i (Shiprock); this is one of three such dikes that extend from the base of the volcanic plug. This photograph was obtained just north of Indian Service Road 13, San Juan County, NM (aka the 'Red Rock Highway'). The Navajo Nation rules discourage entry closer than two miles to the base of the plug, and this photograph was obtained well outside of that limit, about three miles from the base.
