INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Jun 18, 2017
  • location   Tse Bit'a'i (Shiprock) (San Juan County, New Mexico, US)
  • notes   Tse Bit'a'i (Shiprock) is the largest of several monadnocks rising from the plain in extreme northwest New Mexico. This is a sacred Navajo site and the Navajo Nation rules discourage entry closer than two miles to the base of the plug. This photograph was obtained just north of Indian Service Road 13, San Juan County, NM (aka the 'Red Rock Highway'), well outside of that limit, about three miles from the base.
