plant community Chihuahuan Desert scrub at 2853' (870m)notes small tree, leaves typical, oblong, bi-colored, lustrous green above, tomentose gray/white below, scattered along a 1/2 mile long, narrow, steep walled, dry, slot canyon cut in flat lying pale, blocky, limestone strata by a intermittent arroyo tributary of Fresnal Creek, and sheltering a richly diverse flora of the poorly accessible region known as Hell's Half-acre.keywords: CDR, Chihuahuan Desert
