plant community Chihuahuan Desert scrub at 2853' (870m)notes parasitic perennial subshrub on Quercus mohriana along 1/2 mile long, narrow, steep walled, dry canyon cut in flat lying pale, blocky, limestone by a arroyo tributary of Fresnal Creek in the isolated region known as Hell's Half-acre. Name is unsettled. As above in FNA, but as P. serotinum ssp. tomentosum by other authoritieskeywords: CDR, Chihuahuan Desert
