plant community Oak woodland transition to tropical deciduious scrub at 5800' (1770m) elev.notes bolder field below volcanic rhyolite tuff cliffs at upper canyon rim. Old gravel switchback road has now been replaced with a new paved highway to Batopilas that greatly limits access to many former rich roadside collecting sites in the canyon.keywords: SMOc, Barranca Batopilas
