notes Growing on serpentine substrate. Note the long-exserted stamens and 3-lobed stigma (at least one open and visible in the photo) at same level as anthers (or beyond). Those characters distinguish N. heterodoxa from N. squarrosa which has style shorter than stamens and both included in the corolla tube. Those are the two Navarretia species on this Edgewood plant list, and can otherwise look quite similar. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
