| Reviewer's comments: | | | "See comment for other photo in this series, the sessile (and triple-nerved) cauline leaves lacking distinct petioles and raised veins indicate this is not Claytonia umbellata but rather is C. obovata described originally by Rydberg -- current taxonomy would recognize this as Claytonia lanceolata, but impending taxonomic changes will resurrect C. obovata as a species (photographed here) that occurs in the Klamath Region and north coast ranges of California. Claytonia umbellata is restricted to the eastern Sierra Nevada in California. See Claytonia.org for more information.." |
