Asteraceae
plant community Steep south facing slopes in annual grassland and oak woodland, rocky to well drained granitic substrates.notes Aliso 31 (2013): pp. 19-24 Notable absence on grazed lands. Well established plants, often exceeding 10yrs in age, typically are found in rock outcrops and fissures in road cuts. Individuals growing in loose DG and sand appear to be more susceptible to frost.
