notes Plants photographed from several locations along Parkfield grade, north and south of summit. Plants found on open serpentine gravel in grassland and juniper woodland. Smaller plants tend to be erect while larger plants were spreading. Outer perianth sometimes shallowly notched, margins entire or not, and flowers folding at maturation. Involucres generally swollen; however, when not noticeably swollen, transverse ribbing still present (sometimes faint, appearing as bumps on rib faces). Flowers at times as large as 5.0 to 5.25mm.photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
