    Reviewer's comments:
"This is a welcome discovery. The Santa Rosa race of T. grayi was once abundant, but it has nearly been wiped out by urban growth and by grass competition due to lack of grazing. In fact I was recently told by a local botanist that no populations remained that he knew of. Hopefully this site is not imminently threatened. Your photo shows very well the red involucre and white (vs yellowish) banner tips typical of the local race, but it would be good also to show the leaves, which can have quite diverse color markings. If the population is large enough it would be well worth collecting seeds for increase and conservation banking. Congratulations on an important find."
